Capital Metro is very excited to share that the agency has reached two significant milestones in the planning and federal funding process for the Orange and Blue Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects.
On May 24, 2021, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) published two Notice of Intent (NOI) announcements in the Federal Register notifying the public and stakeholders of the opportunity to participate in the preparation of two National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) documents for the Orange and Blue Line projects.
This signifies the official start of an effort to assess the potential impacts of building the projects and identify ways to mitigate potential adverse effects on the community or environmental resources. The public will have opportunities to review and provide input on the conceptual designs for the projects this summer. The results of the EIS analysis will be available for public review and comment in late spring 2022.
For your review, we’ve provided additional environmental documents for the Orange Line and the Blue Line.
