The Summer I Turned Pretty
Are you still reeling from the series finale of the best (we’re not biased or anything) teen drama? Then this costume has your name written all over it.
We’re Team Conrad here at CapMetro, but there are plenty of costume options in this show to transport you straight to an idyllic beach house in a place called Cousins Beach.
Consider pulling together Belly’s retro house party ‘80s fit, Conrad’s classic button-down & watch combo, or Jeremiah’s iconic lifeguard uniform.
BUT, above all else, you can’t forget these mandatory accessories… as elegantly seen on our Bikeshare e-bike: faux hydrangeas from your favorite department craft store, an infinity necklace (to symbolize eternal love, of course), a stuffed polar bear (named Junior Mint), and perhaps your own real-life Belly or Conrad. Maybe even an AirTag (iykyk)? Also, we’re not saying not to just wear a simple spaghetti strap wedding dress!
It doesn’t matter if you’re dressing solo or going as a group of Cousins Beach besties, this costume can bring all the nostalgia and teen drama your Halloween needs. It’s a sweet nod to summer love, even if you’re donning it in October.
Labubu on the Loose
With their wild hair, toothy grin and chaotic charm, Labubu is the moment. They have been haunting TikTok feeds and dangling from backpacks and purses all year long. These little monsters are rumored to bring out demonic spirits from within, which makes them the perfect costume. Ride CapMetro around town on Halloween in search of Labubu friends to be wicked with! Don’t eat candy or food after midnight, though.
Hold on, I think we’re getting our fuzzy creatures mixed up.
Whether you DIY a fuzzy jumpsuit and use a hot glue gun to add some fluff to a headband or splurge on a full mascot-style getup from your fav online store, you’ll be channeling the spirit of the most coveted collectible.
Wicked
This year we were so obsessulated with Wicked we just had to dress our Demand Response Duo as our favorite team of witches, Glinda and Elphaba!
Our Pickup vehicle has been glindafied and is rocking her oh so popular pink and infamous sparkly wand. Copy the look easily by wearing pink from head to toe and a crown fit for a queen! Bonus points if you bring your own bubbles, Glinda totally would!
Our Access vehicle is… well, its green! Defy all odds and stand out from the crowd by rocking some face paint and Elphaba’s signature witches’ hat and spectacles. For a little Shiz extra credit you could even carry your very own Grimmerie full of spells just for you!
Dress up as either on your journey to meet the Wizard in Oz, or grab a friend and plan your trip together. We all know pink goes good with green.
Skeleton
Every year, Halloween’s most popular costumes hinge on social media trends or what’s hot on TV. However, some classics like the spooky skeleton never go out of style! Nobody wore the iconic bones better than Skeletor, The Grim Reaper, Jack Skellington, Ghost Rider or The Crypt Keeper.
Well, this year, CapMetro entered the race by transforming our Bikeshare e-bike into a skeleton bike that’s bad-to-the-bone. What could be more fun than riding through Austin on this ghostly work of perfection on Hallows’ Eve?
If you want to go “bones out” this Halloween, try making a DIY skeleton costume! Wear a black sweat suit with matching gloves as your base, print and cut out your favorite cartoon skeleton bones, apply Velcro sticky tape and stick them on! Now you’re ready for Fright Night!
Ozzy Osbourne
Sharon! Where’s the Vanpool?!
This Halloween, we’re transforming our rideshare service into the iconic Prince of Darkness himself. Like any rock legend, Ozzy never travels alone—and neither should you with CapMetro Vanpool!
To master this look, start with an all-black wardrobe, signature round glasses (even indoors!), wild flowing hair, a microphone prop, and dramatic black eyeliner. Don’t have tattoos? Temporary ones should do the trick!
Warning: this costume may cause spontaneous headbanging and carpool karaoke.
Rumi – Kpop Demon Hunters
Are you feeling golden and ready to seal the Honmoon (혼문) with HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys? Whether you’re a demon hunter or just an aspiring K-pop star, everyone can come together with the most powerful costumes for Halloween as your favorite HUNTR/X girly or Saja Boy!
We’ve outfitted our CapMetro Rail cars as Rumi, the lead singer of HUNTR/X, with her iconic wraparound purple braid and black & gold jacket she wore for her performance of the worldwide, chart-topping song for TEN weeks in a row, “Golden.”
Don’t forget your mic to really standout as a superstar. Bonus points for bringing your giant pet tiger.
We’re goin’ up, up, up, it’s our moment! You know together we’re glowing! We’ve got to prevent Gwi-Ma and his demon forces from entering the human world together! This is how it’s done. With CapMetro, we’re gonna take down the traffic, show up in the best costume, and seal up the Honmoon together, just in time for Halloween!
