Yes, it’s true. CapMetro Rapid has gone blue

Things that look great in blue:

  • the sky
  • dresses (Yes, it was blue!)
  • CapMetro Rapid buses

You heard right. Our CapMetro Rapid buses got a major glow up.

In 2021, Capital Metro went through some pretty big changes. As Austin grew up around us, we realized that we needed to grow with it. We broke through the cocoon that was Capital Metro and became CapMetro, a public transit provider that unites our region and all the ways it moves. We shed our skin and became who we always were.

The CapMetro Rapid routes are like our central nervous system. With 10–15-minute frequencies, transit-priority lanes and bus-first traffic signals, it’s how commuters move from North to South and back again.

You may remember that not long ago, these buses looked a little different. There you are at your stop and expecting to see ol’ red in your periphery. For the multi-tasking commuter, this change can be a little confusing. Worry not!

The change from Rapid to Blue will make sure our services are better and consistent throughout our entire system. So, hop on board ‘Big Blue’ and let CapMetro Rapid get you there!
